Alessi "Stanza Dello Scirocco" Fruit Holder, White
“La Stanza dello Scirocco” fruit basket in white. It is a room without windows in which you can do nothing but ponder the wind that is undoing all sublunary things outside. The upshot is a collection of geometrically irregular items made up of small splinters of various sizes, interlaced in an unstable balance. And so I came up with the idea that “La Stanza dello Scirocco” could be recounted through the story of drawings done by hand and through images of shadows, and that we could then ask everyone to exert themselves ever so slightly and make a small input with their own imaginations. 21st April: Fruit bowl
One of those quick take a picture of something before the day is over photos I’m afraid.

I’m finding working motherhood is leaving little time or head space for much else right now. The state of the fruit bowl is one of those little barometers of whether or not I’m coping. As long as there is milk, bread and fruit in the house I’m just about clinging on to control.

Fruit holder (and nuts?) designed by Stefano Giovannoni and Guido Venturini for Alessi.
